God of peace, You call me by name; You are able, More than able.
All my burdens, Hopes and fears:
You are able, God of peace.
God I praise, God I love,
I rejoice in You;
Saviour, Healer, In my darkest hours
You give hope anew.
All my spirit, Soul and body,
Lord to you I bring;
Sanctify, glorify For the presence
Of my King
God with us, Emmanuel
In your wholeness I am whole;
Life and love, Mercy, grace,
You are able, God I praise.

This song was inspired after many days of praying through the following scripture text.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
In our lives, in our relationships, he intends to purify and strengthen us. In our spiritual, psychological and physical needs, God is more than able to make us "blameless" or "faultless", that we will be fit for the indwelling of Christ by the Holy Spirit.
I cannot make myself good enough in any way, but He who calls me by name is faithful, and intends to do it. I will always have faults, but through the work of the Cross in my life I have been forgiven, set free and God calls me "righteous", destroying the need for me to strive to be something I can't: I can never be pure by my own efforts, but He declares me to be clean because of His own sacrifice.
So in this I can find hope not only for myself, but for my relationships with my wife and family, and our future happiness - because Christ has already won the victory for me, the victory that was impossible for me to win.
